Meet the Klingenbergers

For more than four decades, the Klingenberger family has been at the heart of Covington Travel. Bob, Margaret, and Jerry Klingenberger founded the agency in Fort Wayne in 1980, building a business centered on trusted relationships, industry expertise, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping people experience the world.

Margaret played an instrumental role in shaping Covington Travel and became a respected and well-known leader within the travel industry. Her influence continues to be felt today through the relationships, values, and commitment to service that define the Covington Travel team.

Jerry has been involved with Covington Travel since the beginning and continues as an owner of the company. His extensive business and financial background brings a unique perspective to the agency. A CPA, Jerry earned his BBA in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from the University of Chicago. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles with organizations including Arthur Andersen & Co., Consolidated Millinery Co., Grayhill, Inc., and the Keeley Funds.

Travel is also a personal passion for Jerry and his wife, Mary. From Alaska and Hawaii to the Caribbean, Africa, the United Kingdom, and destinations throughout Europe, they’ve experienced firsthand the excitement of discovering new places…and their list of places to explore continues to grow!

Today, Jerry and the Covington Travel team are proud to carry forward the legacy Margaret helped create, combining decades of experience with the same personal approach that has guided the agency since 1980.
